Friends FTW

Its beginning of the first day of the first weekend of 2015 and I was seriously looking forward to it, mainly because the idea of getting back together with my college time friends nearly after a year was exciting. It was Supreet's Birthday, and I really really like Birthdays (even if its not mine). Its like I can relate to the other person's happiness - so excited, full of life, its like one's at the top of the world for the whole day and everything just seems to be about them.

So the day started out just like any normal Saturday does for me - lazy start, reaching office a little after noon. I had a lot of work pending for a Saturday, which lead me getting to Supreet's Party a little late; ah, in fact very late, but I was accompanied with Mallo and Savi "Baba" Arora so I wasn't alone in this department. Getting to the party, I must say I was a bit surprised - I didn't know about 80% of the crowd. The only people who I knew were my College Mates - Arshi, Shikha and to be honest, those were the ones that mattered and of course there was Supreet - The Birthday Girl.

Just as I was about to take a breath that the dance part of the party was over, I heard the DJ get back on track. Now how should I put it? I don't want to be rude to all the DJs out there, but I HATE DANCING, there I said it. Boy it feels good. But fortunately for me, the dance awkwardness ended after around 5-10 minutes.

After a blur of eating and messing around, we arrived at the Indian or at least Ludhiana version of "after-party" - the selfie/photograph party - where anyone and everyone is focused on taking his/her pictures. This part is not that bad, provided I get to be in the pictures being taken. After a lot of flashes and smiles, we left the building and proceeded to the parking.

To my surprise, the birthday girl had everyone assemble together in a group and started giving a short yet brilliant while at the same time beautiful speech about all her friends, who had taken time out of schedule to attend her party. Now this was something that I've never heard or experienced, but it was not something less than a feat. Most importantly, how spontaneously and how non-stop she was talking about her friends, it was a great thing to experience and I was kind of glad that I was a part of this (Note to self - I can adopt this thing in the future, sorry for stealing your idea Supreet :D ).

It was an awesome first Saturday of a so far great year, and it was made more awesome by some new friends that I made and the old ones that are still as precious as gold.

My Friends For The Win (Yes, even you Mr. Baba Ji, even you!)
